A former Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town youngster has become King’s Lynn Town’s sixth signing of the summer.

And Linnets boss Paul Caddis believes Jesse Nwabueze’s experiences in top class academies will serve him well.

“Jesse is a player we’ve followed closely, and we believe this is an exciting signing for both the club and the supporters,” said Caddis.

“Despite still being a young player, he already brings experience from outstanding academy environments and senior football, and we’re pleased he has chosen to continue his journey with us.

“Jesse is an attacking player with real quality and versatility. He has the ability to play across the front line, whether that’s as a striker, wide forward or winger, and his pace, direct running and willingness to take defenders on are qualities that can excite fans and change games.

“He possesses excellent technical ability, can beat players in one-versus-one situations and has shown throughout his development that he knows where the goal is. He’s comfortable using both feet, works tirelessly for the team and has the physical attributes to compete at this level.

“Having come through academies such as Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town, before gaining valuable experience in senior football, Jesse understands the demands required to succeed. He’s hungry to prove himself and eager to keep improving, which fits perfectly with the culture we’re building here at King’s Lynn. We want players with ambition, character and a desire to help move this club forward, and Jesse embodies those traits.

“We’re looking forward to working with him and helping him take the next step in his career. I’m sure our supporters will give him a warm welcome and, in return, they’ll see a player who will give everything for the badge every single time he steps onto the pitch. We’re excited about what Jesse can bring to the squad, and we can’t wait to see him in a King’s Lynn shirt.”

Nwabueze came through the Crystal Palace academy, leaving in 2020 to join Ipswich, where he played for the under-18s and under-21s before signing his first pro contract in 2022. During his time he had loans including Bury Town, Stowmarket Town and Felixstowe & Walton United.

He left Portman Road during the 2024/25 season and joined Bath City before moving on to another National League South side, Maidstone United, at the start of last season. He made eight appearances before signing for Aveley FC for the rest of the season.

“I’m buzzing to be here and I can’t wait to get going,” he said. “The fans can expect, bravery, taking players on, taking on responsibilities as a forward player.”
