The Met Office and BBC Weather have issued new forecasts regarding the likelihood of snow as we move further into November and approach December and Christmas. These predictions come in response to WX Charts, which uses data from Met Desk, suggesting potential snowfall between November 18 and November 22.

Some maps even indicate accumulations of up to 30cm on snow depth charts. However, both the Met Office and BBC Weather remain sceptical.

One map from WX Charts indicates lows of -1C, feeling like -5C, with England, particularly the Lake District and the north, potentially facing sub-zero conditions. The Met Office has hinted at "colder interludes" in its outlook.

It suggests cold spells between November 12 and November 21, stating: "Likely still a good deal of dry weather during the middle of next week. Most areas should be largely dry with a good chance of sunny spells but also scope for overnight frost in clearer areas."

It adds: "The influence of high pressure is likely to decline through the course of next week with an increasing chance of showers or longer spells of rain, initially more likely in the east. However, there is currently significant uncertainty in how quickly conditions turn more unsettled.", reports Birmingham Live.

"Thereafter, likely more mixed conditions conditions with some wetter, windier weather at times but also some drier interludes bringing the chance of morning fog patches. Temperatures overall around average though with potential for some rather cold spells," the BBC reported. The broadcaster's forecast for November 11 to November 17 suggests "settled at first" conditions, becoming "unsettled" from November 18 to December 1.

"The next forecast at the end of the week could clarify the most likely conditions for next week and show whether the unsettled North Atlantic flow will return," the Beeb added.
